Pathways to Philanthropy is a full-time, remote Grant Writer Apprenticeship and 12-month program designed to overcome typical barriers to the fundraising profession for individuals who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or people of color. The paid apprenticeship focuses on new skills acquisition (grant writing), sphere of influence (donor relations), and support system (mentorship).
Pay for this position is $15/hour. After successful completion of the first six months of the program, Grant Writer Apprentices receive an increase to $17.50/hour. Upon graduation from the program, Grant Writer Apprentices are eligible for hire by Write On Fundraising at our starting Grant Writer salary of $40-45K.
Benefits for this position include health, dental, and vision insurance; matching 401K and other retirement planning options; a completely remote work environment; 27 days of paid leave (holidays and paid time off); monthly technology stipend; and company-performance-based annual bonus.
While this is a fully remote position, the Grant Writer Apprentice work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Apprentices will be provided a company laptop and other materials required for program completion but must have and retain access to high-speed internet and a home workspace conducive to remote work throughout the program. Apprentices are not permitted to undertake other paid grant writing or fundraising opportunities during their one-year apprenticeship.
Qualified candidates will have less than 12 months paid experience in a fundraising role and demonstrate strong writing skills, a commitment to nonprofit, volunteer, or philanthropic work, and work well autonomously.
